Look, this is… the Lamb of Allah.
Prophet Yahya (John) saw Isa and told the people who were with him: “Look, this is the Lamb of Allah, who takes away the sins of the world."
Besides the Prophet Yahya calling Isa Al -Masih, he also called Isa the Lamb of Allah, why?
Everyone knows what a scapegoat is, right? A scapegoat is someone who has to bear the guilt of other people's sins; wrongs that he himself has not committed.
In the past, goats or sheep were slaughtered for the sake of Allah. Man gave the life of an animal to die to atone for his own sins.
Isa Al-Masih is that sheep that must be sacrificed to Allah. The death of Isa Al-Masih on the cross was a holy sacrifice that provided mankind with the means for salvation from the sins of this world.
And this is the Lamb of Allah… the punishment for our sins.
