“This is the person I was referring to.”
Nabi Yahya (John) became famous. People talked about him. Both ordinary people and religious people wanted to know “Who is he?” This is the testimony of the Prophet recorded in Injil:
“I am not Al-Masih!”
So they asked “Then who are you? Is it the Prophet Ilyas?” Nabi Yahya replied, “I am not the Prophet Ilyas.”
“Are you the Prophet we were waiting for?” And the Prophet replied, “No.” So they asked, “Then who are you?” He replied...
“I am the voice of one who proclaims in the wilderness, ‘Make straight the way of God.”
“If you are not Al-Masih or the Prophet Ilyas or the prophet we are waiting for, why did you baptize?”
Nabi Yahya answered them, “I baptize with water. But there is one among you that you do not know. That person will come after me, and even the straps of his shoes I am not worthy of untying.”
The next day Prophet Yahya saw Isa coming towards him and said, “Look, this is the lamb of Allah who takes away the sins of the world! This is the one of whom I have spoken, saying, 'After me will come one greater than me because He existed before me.’
Nabi Yahya also testified: “I saw Ruhullah (the Holy Spirit) descending from heaven like a dove and I, myself, did not know Him. But Allah, who sent me to baptize with water, said: 'The man on whom you see Ruhullah come down and remain, that person will be the one who will baptize with al-Ruhul Qudusu.' I have seen and I testify that this is Allah's most beloved Al-Masih."
