Go now and leave your life of sin

Do not sin again

“This woman was arrested while committing adultery. In Share'ah (the law) the Prophet Musa (Moses) commanded us to stone such people to death. So what do you think?” the religious leaders asked the Prophet Isa. “Should we stone her to death or what should we do?”

When Isa heard this, he knelt down, writing in the dust.  Then, standing up he said to them, “Whoever is without sin among you, let him throw the first stone.”

Then he knelt down, writing in the dust again.   At this, those who heard him began leaving, one by one, starting with the older ones until only Isa and the woman were left.

Then Isa asked her, “Woman, where have they all gone? Has no one condemned you?”

She replied, "No one, sir." Then Jesus said, “Neither do I condemn you. Go, and from now on do not sin again.”

Each one of us is offered a second chance.  Whether we have made a mistake intentionally or unintentionally,  we can always choose to change and begin again.

Isa gave the woman a chance.  He knew that the woman was an adulterer, had broken the law of Moses and had been caught in the act!  But Isa didn't condemn the woman.  Instead he gave her a chance to repent, change her life choices and do the right thing.

Each one of us is offered a second chance, the chance to change. “Go, and do not sin again.”
