Without water…our body will die in 3 days, but without the “water of life” our soul will die immediately!!!
Isa was on his way to Galilee and stopped to rest beside a well. A Samaritan woman came to draw water.
Isa: “Would you give me some water to drink?
Samaritan woman: “You are a Jew and I am a Samaritan woman. How can you ask me for water to drink?”
Isa: “If you knew what Allah has given you and knew the one who asks you for water, you would ask of him and he would give you living water.”
Samaritan woman: “Lord, you have nothing to draw water, and the well is deep. Where would you get living water from? Are you greater than our father Jacob, who gave us this well? He himself and his children and herds drank from this well.”
Isa: “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks of the water that I give will never be thirsty again. Indeed, the water that I give will become in them a spring of water surging into everlasting life.”
Samaritan woman: “Lord, give me that water so that I may not be thirsty and never have to come back here to fetch water.”
The conversation next to the well makes us realize the importance of water. If we didn't drink water, we wouldn't be able to survive. Likewise, our soul cannot exist without the water of life. And where will the water of life come from if not Isa al-Masih
